I can see wlan0 but when I run the command 'sudo ifup wlan0' i get the message Hi, i have sorted part of the problem ,described in original post below, by using a separate powered USB hub, so I guess the TP adapter is quite power hungry, however I now have another problem. Would really appreciate hearing about anyone else's experience or suggestions. Though I've ssh'd into it from my workstation so the kb/mouse is not really an issue right now. On the downside, the Fedora Remix image seems to hate the usb hub I'm using, so it's a choice of 2 of 3 (kb, mouse, wifi) at a time.
#Medialink wireless adapter how to
I'm still trying to figure out how to configure for WPA2 network, but encouraged that the kernel recognized and loaded the drivers. and, low & behold, it has all the wireless kernel modules! It loaded the rtl8187 and r8712u ok from /lib/modules for the adapters I have. That gave me the motivation to try Fedora Remix. Not sure if it was clumsy mistake on my part or something more involved. However, now the Pi won't boot anymore (hangs right after Pi logo). So I copied the modules and boot dirs from github raspberrypi firmware repo to /boot and /lib/modules on the Debian image. I had posted related to this in but this seems like a more appropriate place to post followup. I'm in similar situation as GizmoB73, trying to get WiFi working on a Beta board with Debian image. Stop.Īny ideas on why pastbinit didn't work and why the make command doesn't work? Make: *** /lib/modules/3.1.9+/build: No such file or directory. I get this, instead of the error response on the screen: I have installed in and did a $ ls -a | pastebinitĪnd I got the directory list that I was expecting. Sounds like it would be a useful tool if I could use it. Stop.ĭid you get that too? If so, what did you do to get around it please? lib/modules/3.1.9+/build: No such file or directory.
